The Ethics & Public Affairs ministry serves in the role of advocacy in behalf of the Georgia Baptist Convention to the Georgia General Assembly. During annual legislative sessions, Ethics & Public Affairs also reports on moral and family issue legislation before state lawmakers on the Ethics & Public Affairs’ web site.
Ethics & Public Affairs, in partnership with the Southern Baptist Convention Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, works on certain legislation before the Congress. Ethics & Public Affairs serves in a staff relationship with the Christian Life Commission in preparing an annual report to the Convention on a moral, familial or civic issue.
Conferences, consultation and resources are provided to churches on ethical, familial and civic concerns including community issues. This ministry provides consultation to churches in the development of Salt and Light Teams in order that the churches can be aware of moral and family issue legislation. |
| We recognize that each church is autonomous. This ministry office speaks to the churches of the Georgia Baptist Convention on matters of moral concerns and does not attempt to speak for any church. |
